SC.WORX Product Overview
SC.WORX establishes the Materials Management Information System (MMIS) Item Master as the Single Source of Truth (SSOT) for all supply-related data exchanges. The SC.WORX solution normalizes data at a very high rate of accuracy and supports interoperability between the three core healthcare provider systems; Supply Chain, Financial and Clinical. This SSOT moves data from one application to another to drive supply cost reductions, optimize contracts, increase SCM cost visibility and control rebates and contract administration fees.
SC.WORX has been focused on the issues surrounding clinical attribution and integration from MMIS to EMR systems for several years. We offer a wide range of products and service that address specific content issues created during EMR (EPIC, Cerner, Meditech, etc) system implementations. SC.WORX products focus on expanding the role and significance of the supply chain in creating and administrating data management solutions for healthcare providers.
One significant issue which many hospitals experience is centered around the clinical description attribute within the EMR system. The two main issues SC.WORX helps resolve are 1. The typical MMIS description field was created for systems that do not use descriptions for ordering - hopsitals which rely on catalog numbers experience far greater problems with integrating their Item Master, and 2. The EMR system search engine functionality is very limited and nurses require a very strong understanding of all products in order to successfully locate products.
To solve these issues, SC.WORX built functionality to create multiple descriptions in the MMIS. We utilize clinical personnel to design these attributes with a user interface that allows clinical nurses to design their descriptions by category. The system automatically adds new items as they come in based on the category which was assigned. These macro templates are applied allowing a consistency of descriptions and ease of education. The SC.WORX solution deploys within weeks of execution.
In addition to solving the naming convention dilemma SC.WORX allows all EMR fields (Implant flags, HCPCS, Rev Code, Sterility, Tissue, etc) to be built in to the MMIS so that information is automaticall loaded in to the EMR interface. SC.WORX automates the CDM assignment so that the MM team administrates the rules - allowing finance to create them. Customers using this service connect for updates every 5 minutes push their Item master to the Mfr for PPI loading – with the goal of ensuring that all items are in the EMR at the point of use.
